Modern Slavery: Credit Card and Loan Debts

I can think of no better term for it than modern slavery. Over the past few years I have come to believe that the modern banking system is really modern slavery in disguise. Technically the bank doesn’t “own” you to the point of physically beating or abusing you, but just short of that, they definitely can “compel” you to work very long and hard hours to pay your bank debts.

It was not so long ago that slavery and owning another human was accepted, and in many countries, even enforced by government. People owned other people; The typical work day was from sun-up to sundown. That was the way of things and some people were viewed as “less” than others, often to the point of not being human. We understand today that in times of government enforced slavery that slaves were view much like animals and therefore were not to be treated as humans.

So, if you replace slavery of 200 years ago with something new but similar, what do you do? How can you control others to work for you? I believe this is brilliantly accomplished by the banking system or any system whereby a person agrees to a contract to pay monthly payments of “money.” Basically, to produce this money, the person must work. The media is used to encourage higher and higher debt liabilities on the part of the workers and to sign up for monthly service plans like monthly automobile payments, mobile phone services, cable television, internet membership fees and mortgages. This doesn’t even begin to address the method of paying now with plastic and paying later which statistically is paid back over several months time. In my opinion, the whole system is setup to bury the consumer in debt and keep them there so they are working and producing the maximum cash possible just to pay off monthly loans and service fees. If you wanted to create an invisible slavery system that people willingly agreed to, I’d say the modern banking loan system is about as close as you could get.
